Rolling Stone Pictorial Of Blondie At SXSW

Rolling Stone magazine posted a 25-shot pictorial of Blondie on their website today.

Entitled "Blondie in the Flesh: A Day in the Life at SXSW" - and tag-lined "Go behind the scenes with Debbie Harry and Co. in Austin" - the pictorial of over two-dozen snapshots by photographer Koury Angelo was posted onto the music magazine's website by Austin music journalist and editor Chad Swiatecki.

All of the shots of the 'Heart Of Glass' band - consisting of Deborah harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke, Leigh Foxx, Matt Katzbohen and Tommy Kessler - were captured during the day of their SXSW (South By Southwest) showcase...

"I always quote Ringo Starr, that if it wasn't for this I'd probably be a hairdresser." That's Blondie drummer Clem Burke's canny answer to what his life's work would've been if the chart-topping New Wave band he started with Chris Stein and Debbie Harry hadn't taken off. It did, which means Burke wields drumsticks instead of a blow dryer and that Blondie remains a relevant force celebrating 40 years together (a Smithsonian doc about the band's anniversary airs March 21st). Part of that celebration included an invite to Austin, Texas, for SXSW, where the band played Rachael Ray's annual Feedback party. We tagged along while Blondie wowed the crowd and showed the festival's many younger bands how it's done.

  1. Chris was disappointed because he didn't get to see Grumpy Cat? I would be too!
